Welcome to Upper Hopton Pre-School
We have spaces available - please get in touch!
"My child's development whilst being at pre-school is coming on in leaps and bounds. She comes home full of stories and new skills that she has learnt at pre-school."
"The stay and play mornings are lovely too, my child loves me coming to see what he gets up to at preschool and loves introducing me to his friends."
"It is clear to me that Upper Hopton Pre-school has been instrumental to my child’s development – their commitment to fostering a loving, thriving and inclusive environment and the level of individual attention provided by the staff ensures that each child can develop both emotionally and academically in a wonderfully supportive setting."
February/March Newsletter
Our topic this term is 'Traditional Tales’
‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ are two stories that we will be focusing on. We will be learning about farm animals, counting objects, constructing houses from different materials, and learning about objects that are heavy or light.
We all have our favourite stories, and we are inviting the children to bring in their favourite story book during the week beginning 2nd March to show their friends.
Home learning ideas:
Borrow one of our home learning packs: The Three Little Pigs or Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Bake Gingerbread People.
Build a den from sticks.
Use straws to blow different objects, or blow bubbles!
Visit a farm.
Fundraising
Our Valentine’s dressing up week raised a wonderful £73.05! The children enjoyed dressing up and showing their friends during morning time. Thank you to our wonderful families for your continued support! We will show you what we buy with the money.
Lunch boxes
We encourage healthy eating and we always see lovely healthy lunches. Remember, there is no need to send a drink in as we always provide water for lunch and throughout the day.
Please can we remind parents not to send anything containing nuts as we have children with allergies. Grapes, cherries and other small round fruits also need cutting in half as they are a choking hazard to young children.
Committee
Thank you to Jo who has been a wonderful chairperson for the last few years. She is stepping down before she welcomes her new baby boy to the world in April.
Dan has been voted in as chairperson and a handover from Jo to Dan will be taking place soon. If you would like to join the committee or would like more information, please get in touch or ask a member of staff at the gate.
