June Newsletter
Our topic this term is Holidays and Under the Sea šļøš
We will be exploring all about different kinds of sea creatures and marine life through lots of fun activities, such as ice excavation of arctic animals, walking the plank through homemade shark infested waters, and exploring textures and sizes of different shells.
In the home corner we will set up a travel agents, and provide a suitcase so that the children can decide what to take on holiday with them. If you have any pictures of your family holidays please send them in so the children can show their friends.

Sponsored Sports Week - We are inviting the children to take part in a sponsored sports week. There will be relay races, an egg and spoon race, and jumping races. The children are welcome to come in fancy dress but please ensure they are wearing appropriate footwear. Please see the WhatsApp message for more information. The sponsor money raised will buy new toys and resources for pre-school.
School Leaverās Party - To celebrate the children going to school we will hold a party between 9:30-11:30am on Tuesday 14th July. There will be games, dancing and party food for snack (they still need their own packed lunch). The children are welcome to come dressed up in their favourite outfits.
If your child is transitioning to school this year and does not attend on Tuesdays, their key worker will speak to you about attending the party.
September Children - If you require any extra sessions for your child from September please let Emily or Vicky know before the summer holidays.
AGM on Tuesday 30th June - All are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting held at pre-school at 9am. Please let Emily or Vicky know if you plan to attend.

Our topic this term is 'Growth and Natureā šš¦Ā
We will be exploring what people, animals and plants need to grow and talking about healthy eating and exercise. The children will also be planting and growing with the volunteers from Hopton in Bloom, and measuring themselves on our height chart.Ā
We also have five little caterpillars at pre-school. The children will watch them grow, feed them and see them change into beautiful butterflies.Ā

Fundraising šĀ
We recently received a donation of Ā£215 from Mirfield Masonic Lodge. We have used some of this money already to buy new books and replace some of our older books. With the rest we will purchase new group time activity resources, including story sacks and puppets. Thank you to Mirfield Masonic Lodge.Ā
Our Easter raffle raised a brilliant Ā£200! Some of this money has been spent on new mark marking resources, new cushions for the children to sit on in group times, and minibeast hunting supplies for our topic on growth and nature.Ā
Outdoor Play šĀ
John has kindly painted and built our new outdoor playhouse and the children are loving it!Ā
Now that the weather is improving, please remember to send suncream and sunhats with your child on warm days.Ā
